My Reiki journey
Reiki (Usui System of Natural Healing) was developed by Mikao Usui about a hundred years ago. The word Reiki can be translated as “ niversal energy”or "spiritually guided life force".
Reiki was passed on to me by several Reiki masters/teachers over a wide time span, from 1992 to 2014, during which time I have been practising Reiki with family, friends and clients.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It can be effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and creates a beneficial effect. Reiki can be applied in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki enables healing at different levels of wellbeing: physical, emotional or spiritual.
Reiki sessions can support your healing process of acute and chronic illness and can enhance the quality of life in the case of a serious illness.
Reiki can also be appropriate as a general tune-up in times of "normal" health as it promotes relaxation and reduces stress and tension.
Reiki is also a powerful tool for personal growth and for improving our quality of life, both when receiving and when giving Reiki.
Reiki is a simple technique that can be learned by anyone, young and old, in a Reiki course. It can be used for self treatment and treament of others, e.g. family members, friends, patients etc. The ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki course. This ability is passed on during an “ attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.
At the moment I am not running Reiki courses and working as a Reiki practitioner. However, Reiki is very much integrated in my Coaching for Healing practice.

Prayer of Mount Kurama (Japan)

In May 2016, we visited Mount Kurama, in Japan, the place where Mikao Usui received his Reiki enlightenment and became the founder of the Usui System of Natural Healing.
I understood that his experience could only have happened on this specific mountain when I discovered the following Prayer of Mount Kurama:
Since primordial times, the life-energising vitality of Mao-son (symbol of Power), the great king of the conquerors of evil and the spirit of the Earth, has pervaded Mount Kurama.
Imbued with this life energy, a wide variety of life forms resides here in serenity, and the rich natural environment continuous to flourish.
Since the guardian of heaven Bishamonten (symbol of Light) at the end of the Nara Period and the thousand-armed Senju-kannon bodhisattva (symbol of Love) at the beginning of Heian Period became enshrined in this land, people have continued to flock here to offer their heartfelt prayers.
At Kurama Temple today, these three venerated deities are worshipped as the trinity of Sonten (symbol of of Cosmic Energy).
All those who come into contact with Mount Kurama not only receive the life energy emanating from the mountain but also become conscious of their own "shinge" (pure and innocent spirit), and look forward to the dawn of a world of peace and harmony where the lives of all people wil shine with the brightest of lights.
